Project Simplify: Declutter & Organize Your Wardrobe

project simplify

This week, Tsh launched Project Simplify over at Simple Mom. Each week for five weeks, she’s sharing a new hot spot and inviting readers to join her in decluttering & simplifying that space. I’m excited to be participating and decided that I’d give you a peek inside our home with vlogs instead of just telling you what we do!

This week’s hot spot is to clean out your wardrobe. We literally keep our wardrobe in a wardrobe, and I’m sharing how I approach this task in this week’s vlog:

If you’re reading this by email, you may need to click through to the original post to see the video.

In the video, I share:

  • Why I think it’s important to declutter and simplify your wardrobe.
  • What I do to I figure out what clothes I actually wear.
  • How I organize the clothes that are left.

Are you participating in Project Simplify? When was the last time you decluttered your wardrobe?

  • Kate Starr

You are adorable!! What a helpful little video, thank you so much for sharing!

      Thanks so much, Kate!

This is so cute. I’m a fashion blogger so I tend not to toss too much because I like to get creative, but I definitely do the occasional cleanse. I organize my clothes almost exactly how you organize yours and I agree, it’s very helpful to keep similar colors together. I actually did a post on organizing my closet a while ago :P

On a side note, my husband introduced me to this blog and I’m ever so thankful. I love it :)

Hey Dana! Yeah, I am definitely not fashionable or creative. I just need
enough clothes so that I’m not wearing them more than once a week and I’m
good, LOL! Thanks so much for stopping by!

  • Heather B (HomemadeMom)

I have to say that when you announces that this was ALL your clothes I was shocked! It makes me feel like a hoarder and I didnt think I had that much! Lol. You’ve inspired me to purge even more!

Well, compared to the Project 333 people, *I* feel like a hoarder, so I
think it’s all relative. I’m not very fashionable, so I do better with less,
LOL, but I don’t think there’s anything wrong with having more clothes if
      you love them!

Trying out different things is key for me, because I tend to want to sit on the sidelines and wait for the perfect time or place to act.  In reality, you are right that you have to get out there and try things out to see what works for you, and to work on not seeing yourself as a failure when something doesn’t.

Short but to the point article, could have been written by my daughter.  ;)
