Question of the Day: Have You Made Summer Plans?

What Plans Have You Made for Summer?

source: icelight

This may be one of our busiest summers yet, but so far it feels like the kind of busy that we actually enjoy — seeing friends and family, going places together, enjoying all that life has to offer. I’m trying to be mindful of where busy crosses the line into too busy, but I also want to make the most of the time we have together…it’s a fine line, no?

High on our list of plans are a special visit with my grandma, a trip to Philadelphia to visit both the Please Touch Museum and the Academy of Natural Sciences, a couple weeks of VBS, field trips, soccer, a youth group reunion and more!

I’m thankful for my color-coded Google Calendar to keep track of both work commitments and activities, and I’m leaving plenty of white space around the colored blocks to make sure we don’t get burnt out.

So today I want to know…

Have you started making summer plans?

Is this an on-the-go summer for you or a stay-home-and-chill kind of summer for you?

What’s on your must-do list for summer?

How do you define the difference between busy and too busy?

Looking forward to reading your answers!

P.S. Have you read through these 101 ways to embrace summer yet?

I know exactly what you mean!!! We have a lot on our calendar too. Not complaining, just saying.

Our summer sort of planned itself. Our girls are flowergirls in a our friends’ wedding…so bridal shower, rehearsal dinner fun is also included, we’re doing VBS, playdates to zoo and train rides, and we’re doing a 5k walk. The summer reading programs prizes should keep us busy for awhile too. =)

I feel a bit like our summer planned itself too, so I’m just trying to go
      with the flow!

I have activities spaced out pretty evenly for the kids.  We were just on a vacation to the Outer banks last week and we’ll go to the Jersey shore in August.  Between now and August, we have VBS, a 1 week morning camp at the Y and a preschool soccer clinic.  I made sure there is lots of down time to play at the pool or go to the library or just hang out in the back yard.

      Sounds like the perfect summer!

This year, I’ve actually planned less activities but it seems like my entire summer is already full.
Im taking a short vacation to Texas to see family I haddent planned on but I cant wait..   I also have decided to cull some weekend trips I usually take to a spiritual camp this year.  I live a little over 2 hours away so Im just going to make them day trips instead and save myself a boatload of cash doing that.

A super busy summer this year!  Going on a 3 week vacation, which we have not in 5 years.  It is exciting an overwhelming to travel with 3 kids.  Planning my son’s Bar Mitzvah for September.  This means that I have to plan, plan, plan and ask for assistance when needed in  order to stay on top of it all and avoid stressful situations.

Wow, a three-week vacation! We’ve never done that, but it sounds like a
great way to really focus on each other rather than rushing to and from
      vacation!
